About EmpowerEd STEAM Academy
EmpowerEd STEAM Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit microschool founded on the belief that every student deserves a dynamic, adaptive education that meets them where they are and empowers them to succeed in the 21st century. Our academy is designed for students in K-12 and is built around a STEAM-focused, non-traditional educational model that values curiosity, creativity, and real-world problem-solving.
Our Mission
We aim to transform education by providing students with the skills, support, and resources they need to thrive in a fast-evolving world. By blending science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, we prepare students for a future that values critical thinking, innovation, and adaptability.
Our Educational Model
Our microschool is based on several key principles:
Flexible Curriculum: Families can choose to use their own curriculum or our curriculum options, creating a unique blend that matches their child’s learning needs.
Tutoring & Specialized Support: Individualized tutoring and group STEAM Labs led by specialists experienced with students with unique learning needs, including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Autism, and Sensory Impairments.
STEAM Tracts: Each tract combines STEAM disciplines and culminates in a project that challenges students to apply what they’ve learned to a real-world problem, fostering a deep understanding of how various fields intersect.
Parental Involvement & Support: We offer workshops, resources, and guidance to empower parents in leading their child’s educational journey with confidence.
